About the Opportunity
PD Consulting is looking for a Legal Officer on part-time basis (20-25 hours per week). This is a founding-level equity-based opportunity where you’ll co-create, protect, and scale purpose-driven startups in healthcare, education, or foodtech.
Eligibility
- Law graduate (LLB or above) with strong understanding of Indian startup ecosystem
- Minimum 5 years experience in legal, compliance, or contract management
- Passionate about early-stage startups and comfortable with equity-only model until we secure funding
- Strong communication, negotiation, and ownership mindset
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote, and impact-driven environment
- Bonus: If you have worked on legal side of D2C/eCommerce, educational or wellness programs
Nature of Work
- Legal Operations (50%)
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, MOUs, NDAs, licensing agreements, and employment agreements
- Managing legal compliance for Indian startups (MSME, DPIIT registration, GST, MCA, etc.)
- Ensuring IP protection (trademarks, copyrights, patents – if any)
- Handling legal documentation for onboarding, partnerships, and vendor agreements
- Assisting with policy creation for HR, data protection, refund & privacy policies (especially for eCom/D2C)
- Preparing for investment rounds (due diligence, SHA, term sheet review)
- Business Operations (50%)
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (HR, finance, product, operations) to ensure legal alignment
- Contributing to business development, process creation, and partnership structuring
- Supporting founders in decision-making by identifying legal risks/opportunities in strategic choices
- Assisting in vendor onboarding, negotiations, and operational frameworks
- Understanding sector-specific challenges (healthcare, education, foodtech) and aligning compliance strategy accordingly
